Jorge Manuel Vargas was born in Heredia, Costa Rica in 1942. He received a degree in painting from the School of Fine Arts of the University of Costa Rica. A long-standing painter with more than 50 years of professional dedication in the artistic field, Mr. Vargas has participated in the most important art collective exhibitions in Costa Rica. He is also one of the founding artists of the collection of the Museum of Costa Rica Art.
His work is characterized by the diversity of subjects and above all the constant presence of the tree as an incredibly significant element in his painting. His work appears in important art collections, both within the country and abroad.
